Side Yard Sessions

Side Yard Sessions is a laidback lecture series, allowing for knowledge-share and continued education. With a yard* as its venue (typically!), Side Yard Sessions showcases 3-5 presenters that each spend roughly 10-15 minutes educating on a topic of their choice.

Speakers:
Franziska Neumann: Tales of Reinvention
If there was an overall theme that guides Franziska’s life & career—it’s visibility. Fueled by the times when she was hidden in the shadows, she learned to embrace the spotlight and made it her mission to help others get seen and known for what they do best.

Matthew Bradley: The Marfa Lights – Capturing Ephemera and Chasing Ghosts
Artist Matthew Bradley recently spent 1 month in Marfa, Texas on a self-styled residency, meditating on the infamous Marfa Mystery Lights and how to represent phenomena that live outside of our understanding.

Niyia Mack: Freida’s Home Birth
Niyia is a mom to a 3-year-old futurist who was born in Santa Fe. Hear more about her birth story and the history of home birthing in the US.

Monique Derfuss: Vibrational Medicine
Monique is the President of SoundWellness, LLC. She is a gong practitioner, Reiki practitioner (for animals and humans), and 300-hour Kundalini Yoga teacher. She can be found regularly sharing the latest in wellness on regional television, in podcasts and in national magazines. Monique has supported thousands with her inviting and supportive energy. She is a huge animal lover and volunteers regularly at the Santa Fe Humane Society offering animal Reiki to dogs that are suffering from kennel fatigue and behavioral issues. Her goal is to help more animals get adopted and stay in their forever homes. Monique will be sharing her knowledge of realigning one’s energy through the use of gongs for vibrant well-being.
